Year Of The Flood present 4 more tracks of epic d-beat. Hot on the heels of the sold-out debut EP 'A Utopian View' is the follow up EP 'Redefine The Natural Order'. Drawing influences from crust hardcore, doom and down-tempo sludge metal they use their music to paint a bleak picture of a world on the brink of it's ultimate self-consumption.
Heavily inspired by the dystopian literature of author Margaret Atwood, with the overriding themes of violence, greed, consumerism and social selfishness that threaten to overwhelm modern society.
This EP is limited to 150 copies on CD, and you can buy it here or can be downloaded from Bandcamp right now for whatever price you want (even free). It's also available from the usual digital outlets such as iTunes, and will soon be on Spotify
WHR004 Trippy Wicked - The Bleak
Trippy Wicked & the Cosmic Children of the Knight present 4 tracks of acoustic melancholy. "The Bleak” is more of an alternate reality rather than a U-turn on style for the UK’s riff worshipping Trippy Wicked & the Cosmic Children of the Knight. Following their debut album, “Movin’ On”, comes four acoustic songs covering themes of emptiness, unrest and loneliness.
The EP was recorded in a home studio by the band over the early summer of 2010, and is a re-working of a single 20 minute atmospheric sludge piece of music that has yet to see the light of day.
Over the top Sabbath worshipping has been replaced with soft vocal passages, subtle chords and the occasional melancholic horn blast. Frontman Pete Holland has put down his usual sweat coated guitar for a ukulele and drummer Chris West is on guitar duties this time round.
This EP is limited to 100 copies, and comes in a recycled sleeve complete with lyric insert, with artwork by Chris West. Buy it here or can be downloaded from Bandcamp right now for whatever price you want (even free). It will also be available from the usual digital outlets such as iTunes and will soon be on Spotify

In the words of the band "This is epic D-Beat/Hardcore based loosely on the books of Margaret Atwood and Aldous Huxley. We're spreading the word that the human race is bringing our downfall with its arrogance.... the waterless flood is coming."
Featuring ex-members of Jesus of Spazzareth/Bumsnogger/Blood Divided/Dead on a Rival, this sounds like Cursed and Tragedy brawling, with Converge looking on. This 2-track EP is limited to 50 copies, has a fold out drawing by Leon Evans, a scribed CD and a printed lyric insert.
